It\u2019s not a \u201chand-me-down\u201d. Not a loaner. It\u2019s a laptop that I purchased with my own money! Yay, I\u2019m #adulting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, the reason why I decided to buy a personal laptop was because of some side projects that I wish to focus on. I also want to be responsible and not do it on my company\u2019s equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About My Macbook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Since I\u2019m not a gamer and I plan on focusing on font-end development, I didn\u2019t spec it out too crazily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MacBook Pro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 Processor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>16 BG Memory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intel Iris Graphics Card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installations (by order of whatever)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The following below are the things that I installed. There\u2019s no order of significance because I just started installing things based on what I use a lot. I know that some folks publish a list of all the cool tools they use and whatnot, but I like reinventing the wheel for myself sometimes. Why? Well, why not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chrome<\/strong>: This is the main browser that I use for development. I enjoy using the dev tools and currently have no qualms about it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spectacle<\/strong>\u00a0Similar to Diivy, but free. I love this tool. I use it to move windows around on my screen for maximum productivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Affinity<\/strong>\u00a0This is a vector software. I actually don\u2019t really use it. However, it was the 3rd thing that I installed because I want to go back into vector creation. Just for fun.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Git<\/strong>\u00a0Duh. Git is life. I need this for code management. \u201cGit\u201d commands require the command line developer tools. Just download Xcode via the app store or an apple developer account to install the command line developer tools, then Git.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Xcode<\/strong>\u00a0Duh. I need this too. Ios develpment might be in my future too.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>iTerm2<\/strong>\u00a0I know I can just use the regular terminal\u2026 But\u2026 Just because.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>oh-my-zhs<\/strong>\u00a0Cool themes and autocompletion. In terms of customization, yes, you can totally pimp your own bash (\u201cPimp You Bash\u201d article coming soon), but I\u2019m too lazy at the current moment to do so. Plus I like the autocomplete because, again, I\u2019m lazy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sublime<\/strong>\u00a0My trusty text editor tool. However, I plan on learning VIM. Just for fun.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>node + nvm<\/strong>\u00a0Duh. I need this too. I like to pretend that this isn\u2019t my life, but it is. Some projects I need the latest versions, some I need some other version.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>heroku cli<\/strong>\u00a0I like to deploy my projects to Heroku.
